Senate Rules

HEARINGS

The Capitol and O Street building is open for in-person attendance of committee hearings.

As of February 28, 2023, the Governor terminated the state's COVID-19 State of Emergency. Procedures put in place to accommodate the pandemic restrictions have been reverted to pre-pandemic practices. Teleconference testimony during committee hearings will no longer be available.

The Senate continues to welcome the public and provides access to both in-person and written participation for public comment. If you are unable to attend a hearing in person, written comments or testimony can be provided directly to the committee.

LETTERS OF SUPPORT AND OPPOSITION

We encourage the public to submit written testimony on Governor Appointments to Marina.Gonzales@sen.ca.gov, and for all other items to Chinook.Shin@sen.ca.gov, before the hearing. The deadline for letters is noon on Tuesdays before a Wednesday hearing, or noon the day prior to the hearing. Please note that any written testimony submitted to the committee is considered public comment and may be read into the record or reprinted.

Rules Committee meets every Wednesday, 1:30 pm, 1021 O Street, Room 2200
